Anime Right News (ARN) — Angry White Men, a blog of sorts that is "tracking the Alt-Right," recently covered the Lake Ingle story. This was in regards to Ingle, a student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), being barred from class for arguing with his professor.
The article follows as one would typically expect, primarily lambasting Ingle for his character, or using certain words. Where it falls flat the most, however, is a lack of situational awareness regarding where the story actually first appeared.
On March 9, 2018, the right-wing website Campus Reform picked up the story, revealing screenshots of Ingle’s “Academic Integrity Referral Form,” which lays out the alleged offenses, and a letter from the university to Ingle informing him he would not be permitted in his religious studies class effective March 2nd, 2018.
Anime Right News first broke the story on March 6th.
From Campus Reform the story moved to other, more extreme media outlets. The infamously stupid website Gateway Pundit picked up the story and, in typical Gateway Pundit fashion, misspelled Lake’s name. The Unification Church-owned Washington Times also reported on it.
Although other media outlets did not cite our story for various reasons, it is definitively more important to note that Angry White Men did not, since it states that it actively tracks right-wing movements. To miss such basic facts puts this website's accuracy & integrity or lack thereof into sharp perspective.
Time will tell which category Lake Ingle falls into. Until then we can expect this story to be relentlessly hyped by The Daily Caller, Breitbart, and other outlets that make up the Internet’s white grievance industry.
