Golan Ben-Oni, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of IDT Corporation, as well as Genie Energy Ltd. and Straight Path Communications Inc. (SPCI)—met with individuals from Huawei this October. This meeting was advertised on Twitter by Ben-Oni, as he spent time traveling Asia, before becoming inactive after returning to Newark, New Jersey.
IDT has extensive ties to the Trump administration and also used similar ties to the Bush administration to leverage the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) against AT&T in the early 1990s.
Since this meeting took place, Huawei Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Meng Wanzhou has been detained in Vancouver, Canada by authorities, due to a U.S. extradition request. It has led to further diplomatic disputes and two detentions in China.
National Security Adviser John Bolton stated that he knew of the warrant in advance.
Anime Right News first reported on IDT's nefarious activities within the Trump administration for Israeli interests, especially as it pertained to Jared Kushner confidant Ira Greenstein, who represented more than one major conflict of interest. One of these conflicts pertains to the sale of SPCI to Verizon, which was maneuvered while Greenstein was in the Kushner-directed White House Office of American Innovation (OAI), responsible for infrastructure and technologies such as 5G.
SPCI held a portfolio of wireless licenses needed for the deployment of Verizon's current 5G roll-out, and was in trouble due to securities fraud.
The meeting is sure to raise questions, especially given IDT founder Howard Jonas, who is heavily involved with NORPAC—a pro-Israel organization which supports imposing sanctions on Iran.
IFSA, the Iran Freedom Support Act (H.R.282/S.333), which imposes sanctions on Iran in response to nuclear activity.
Nothing compared to the attack that struck in April. Like the WannaCry attack in May, the assault on IDT relied on cyberweapons developed by the N.S.A. that were leaked online in April by a mysterious group of hackers calling themselves the Shadow Brokers — alternately believed to be Russia-backed cybercriminals, an N.S.A. mole, or both.
So Mr. Ben-Oni has largely pursued the case himself. His team at IDT was able to trace part of the attack to a personal Android phone in Russia and has been feeding its findings to Europol, the European law enforcement agency based in The Hague.
Strangely, Anime Right News has uncovered photos of Ben-Oni donning a "Russian uniform" in March of 2015.
I trust this man.
