By now you may have noticed an odd thing going on with the far-left: They don't seem to grasp irony too well. Nowhere else does this shine through than on social media. Like, say, for instance, juxtaposing an anime about a lunar based absolutist matriarchy on a facebook group dedicated to stomping out totalitarian autocracy. However, if you look further you will see that this is just the tip of the
For some denizens on the internet, photoshopping pictures of anime girls and combining them with political rhetoric is just a creative hobby. A hobby that helps break away the monotony of everyday existence. It should be taken, for the most part, with a hint of irony; but some people didn't get the memo (they should really check their spam folder).
And to further cement the adage of an idea seeming better on paper but doesn't work in practice (much like communism itself), we are going to take a look at one of those groups. Without further Awoo, I present to you: The Anime Communist Party!
This group is a political/social group that unites communist and anime fans worldwide. The Anime Communist Party is a revolutionary socialist movement to create a classless and stateless social order structured upon common ownership of the means of production. –excerpt from their About section
The Anime Communist Party is actually a sub-group extended from the closed facebook group Anime Communism which has over 1K members. I tried to reach out to the only staff member on ACP for an interview of which I have not yet received a response. If you look at the latest post on the page we can probably gain some insight on why.
Wait a minute–let's see where that link goes…
Oh, it's just some crudely drawn communist catgirl webcomic with only 100 or so likes. Nothing of interest here. Judging by the art I'm assuming the same person who scribbled this assault onto the eyes would be the same artist who drew the cover photo on ACP's group page.
So that should be it, right? The keks stop here. Surely no one could be this autistic. It's just some stupid facebook page no one really pays any mind to. Wrong! There's actually a subreddit. Go check it out for some epic level cringe. If you didn't hate Reddit enough now this should do it for you. I cannot confirm or deny whether these two groups are related but the evidence is staggering.
So at the end of the day what are we looking at here? Some elaborate troll? Are these just the products of irony or is there something deeper going on here? Has the left finally figured out the formula of Anything + Waifus = Relevance? I wonder where they would get that idea. Or is it simply a bunch of Anime spergs cutting loose on the internet hoping for meme magic to propel their misguided ideals? I don't know, take a look at the links I posted and decide for yourself, and be sure to say Hi and tell them Albright sent you.
Side Note: While doing research on this subject I found out they even have a steam community. Communism has never looked so cute.
Boy, love Yui photoshopped onto a crusted jpg background.
