At this point, the confirmed cases stand at 34,878, with another 27,657 suspected cases, with 724 deaths and 6,107 in a serious condition. 2,050 have been reported to have recovered by the CCP. The confirmed cases at 34,878 and 724 deaths are more than double than this point last week. And the serious/critical conditions are more than a 3 fold increase from last week.
The first confirmed case of a non-Chinese person dying from the coronavirus has now been reported as a 60-year-old American man.
A Japanese man dying of "viral pneumonia" at a Wuhan hospital but not recorded as coronavirus is the clearest indication yet that the statistics given by the CCP are inaccurate. Leaked videos from inside China indicate the number of infected and deaths is in fact far larger than reported by the CCP.
Earlier Taiwanese news outlet Tencent "accidentally" released what could be the real NCOV statistics from inside China.
Confirmed cases: 154k
Suspected cases: 79k
This really could be down to CCP bureaucracy and logistics if the CCP is limiting the number of cases it is willing to confirm each day.
There are rumors of what could be the CCP burning large amounts of bodies on the outskirts of Wuhan.
5 British nationals have confirmed to have the coronavirus at a ski resort in France and none of them have any connection to China. They simply came into contact with a single person who had recently traveled to Singapore for a couple of days.
The coronavirus has been called an R0 4 virus, which means the average person can expect to infect 4 other people.
Japanese scientists have confirmed that the coronavirus is very contagious during the non-symptomatic stage that can last up to 2 weeks.
The situation in Singapore is starting to get serious as they raise their outbreak alert level to the 2nd highest level after it has become clear people are catching the coronavirus that has no links to China at all.
A number of cruise ships have been stopped and quarantined at Tokyo, Hong Kong, and New York City.
The cruise ship near Tokyo has reported 61 confirmed cases of the coronavirus. The cruise ship near Hong Kong has reported 33 confirmed cases and the cruise ship near New York has quarantined the 12 suspected Chinese passengers and simply released the rest to return home.
It seems no protective gear was used in the quarantining of the Chinese nationals suspected to have the coronavirus.
Reports from China that people have to pay for their own quarantine 1k yuan per day, that amounts to about $150 USD per day to be forced into close exposure with other people in extremely unsanitary conditions.
There appears to be some resistance to being quarantined in China.
A reported 400 million people are on lockdown in China.
If the Chinese hospitals are turning away sick patients then there is simply no way the official numbers given by the CCP can be accurate. If victims just die at home from the coronavirus then they are not added to the daily statistics for the number of infected and those who have died.
The situation in China is becoming stranger and more dystopian every day.
The new "state of the art" hospital built in only 14 days in Wuhan has no plumbing, medication or doctors and just seems to be a coronavirus containment facility, that people must pay to be forced to stay in.
It seems the CCP has cracked down hard on the dissidents that released "compromising" videos of the real situation in China.
Of course, what really worries the CCP is the threat to their bottom line. China is the global hub for manufacturing and the coronavirus has brought most of it to a halt. This could have dire repercussions not just for the CCP but for the concept of globalization itself. China is willing to go to some extreme measures to find some way to get people back to work and save the GDP.
The Chinese doctor who originally attempted to raise the alarm of the coronavirus has now died from coronavirus.
On The East Asian ACE2 Receptors Theory
A Chinese scientist has posited a theory a higher level of ACE2 receptors in East Asian males means that the NCOV is more dangerous to East Asians than Whites or Africans.
A comparison between eight individual samples demonstrated that the Asian male one has an extremely large number of ACE2-expressing cells in the lung. This study provides a biological background for the epidemic investigation of the 2019-nCov infection disease and could be informative for future anti-ACE2 therapeutic strategy development.
We also noticed that the only Asian donor (male) has a much higher ACE2-expressing cell ratio than white and African American donors (2.50% vs. 0.47% of all cells). This might explain the observation that the new Coronavirus pandemic and previous SARS-Cov pandemic are concentrated in the Asian area.
However, another study has theorized that the higher level of ACE2 receptors is actually linked to heavy smoking.
In this study, we analyzed four large-scale datasets of normal lung tissue to investigate the disparities related to race, age, gender and smoking status in ACE2 gene expression. No significant disparities in ACE2 gene expression were found between racial groups (Asian vs Caucasian), age groups (>60 vs <60) or gender groups (male vs female). However, we observed significantly higher ACE2 gene expression in smoker samples compared to non-smoker samples. This indicates the smokers may be more susceptible to 2019-nCov and thus smoking history should be considered in identifying susceptible population and standardizing treatment regimen.
At this stage, this has not been officially confirmed, but the science looks solid and it's very possible either of these theories could be true.
