It is estimated that Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto has in his secret portfolio of this digital coin something like 980 thousand BTC. Converting this amount to dollars and looking at the highest valuation reached by this crypto-currency ($ 19,771), it is determined that its cryptographic fortune can be valued at about $19.4 billion, something that guarantees it immediate place in the list of Forbes’ top 50.
If we see names associated with new technologies entering the top of the list of the richest in the world was something that we have become accustomed to recent entries from Facebook, Snapchat and the like, the case becomes more curious because nobody knows the true identity of this allegedly Japanese cryptographer.
The suspicions, often the result of investigative journalism, have already pointed to more than 10 names as probable but none of them actually proved to be the creator of bitcoin – or at least assumed to be. Nick Szabo and Hal Finney of the Cyberpunks showed e-mails exchanged with the “true” Satoshi, Craight Wright could not prove his code knowledge and many others are the ones who flee the question claiming to know only the creator.
It is unlikely that the creator of Bitcoin will appear overnight, let alone convert his fortune into digital currency for a currency. If he did, putting all the bitcoins he owns on the market, the price of the coin would collapse immediately. The more than 900,000 bitcoins that Satoshi Nakamoto is believed to hold represent about 6% of the 16 million coins already generated and close to 5% of the total possible (21 million), which is dubbed as some specialists of a volcano in the middle from the market.
This conjecture is not without its character, especially if we consider that one of Bitcoin’s objectives was to be a better vehicle for the redistribution of power. If the existence of a reserve of this size is confirmed, the power of its holder will always be absolutely decisive for the market.
