Azur Lane is a bullet hell game where you play as cute anime girls representing real World War II battleships. The game launched its English version a year ago and the creators are now celebrating their first anniversary with a massive in-game event, and more excitingly, a party outside in the real world for those who actually leave their basements.
You could hang out with cardboard cutouts of your favorite ship girls, eat some delicious cake, and watch some cosplayers perform a slightly cringy dance on stage.
The in-game event is still ongoing and for a limited time only you can get the Japanese Aircraft Carrier Taihou, shown below. She has two very big selling points, perhaps the biggest in the entire game. And did I mention she's voiced by Aoi Yuuki?
An Azur Lane anime is also in the works and will be released later this year in October. A new teaser trailer for the show was just released during the writing of this article.
