After years of subverting the will of the British people by failing to deliver Brexit and bending over to the EU, disgraced British PM and expired childless female Theresa May finally took the hint that no one likes her and decided to resign as Prime Minister, effective June 7.
The announcement was made just this morning and you can watch the full speech here, that is if you can tolerate looking at her face:
While politicians in the UK and the US, including President Trump paid their usual lip service and said she was great and we will miss her and so on, the public had a very different reaction.
May was floating around the idea that the UK could have a second Brexit referendum, an absurd suggestion which implies that democracy works by repeating elections until they get what they want. This position seemed to be the breaking point that led to her resignation.
The future of Brexit will entirely depend on who the next PM will be, and if he learned his lesson from his predecessor on how not to handle Brexit, but for now May's resignation is a huge leap forward and cause to celebrate.
