A popular platform used by many in the right-wing community, Discord, decided to disable and ban many different profiles amongst a few select servers Monday afternoon.
When someone reached out to Discord about an appeal or a reason as to why their account got banned, Discord provided us with this response:
Discord is not willing to disclose the reasoning behind the banning. On top of this, they are issuing permanent bans instead of temporary bans. All of this, again, without specifying what TOS violations took place.
While right-wing anon accounts are somewhat used to being banned and removed on other platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, those platforms will provide you with a reasoning for the ban upon the decision to do so. Discord seems to be unwilling to show what reason they have for banning the accounts other than an unspecified violation of their terms and service.
