Anime Right News (ARN) — 11 arrests have been made in the Reykjanes peninsula following the theft of 600 Bitcoin mining computers. The computers themselves are valued at $2,100,000 but if used to mine and sell bitcoins the value could be much higher.
The theft, which is being called the "Big Bitcoin Heist" in mainstream Icelandic media is the largest heist the country has ever seen. The 600 computers were stolen in 4 separate heists
"This is a grand theft on a scale unseen before," said police commissioner Olafur Helgi Kjartansson, "Everything points to this being a highly organized crime." NBC reports.
Although, 11 arrests have been made the computers have not been found yet. The authorities are looking for areas with that are consuming high amounts of energy to try to possibly pinpoint the location of the stolen computers. As of now, the computers have not been turned on to mine bitcoin and if I had to make an educated guess they will not be turned on in the near future for fear of alerting the authorities of the heist. The computers then will more than likely be sold off in smaller quantities to various different buyers or sold in one large lump sum to a foreign buyer.
This is peak agorism. This is what the AnCaps dream of. What happens when you can't find the guys that violated your NAP? Well, they get to mine your bitcoins from you and aggress on your liberties even more. Agorism, yes!
