It always feels good to say “I told you so,” doesn’t it? As the media and authorities attempt in vain to memory-hole every video, picture, and written word left behind by the shooter, and politicians start their we’re-better-than-this speeches, we’re left with time to reflect on what this all means for our future.
Namely, the endless conflict that we’re about to be thrust into. Not just with Muslims, but, as the shooter intended and predicted, with the leftists that aim to disarm you in the coming conflict. He predicted that his shooting would lead to confiscations, and from confiscations directly into a civil war – and it’s looking likely.
Whatever your opinions of the shooter and his motivations, it is undeniable that the use of the 2nd Ammendment as a wedge to kickstart a civil war is the result of mental clarity and not a product of a deranged mind. His use of memes, social media, and a clear manifesto virtually guarantees copycats, and with them, an endless cycle.
Something has Changed
Every shooting we alway hear the same bullshit: "today changed everything."
But nothing ever really changed until today. You see, the goals of mass shooters in the past have been the same ever since Eric and Dylan stepped into Columbine High School on that april morning nearly 20 years ago - it was an act of personal revenge with no larger political aims.
The difference now is that the idea of using your enemy (the establishment) to further your own goals (civil war) in order to break their grip on power has now been popularized - and not just for the right. This method will be used by all fringe elements to further their goals.
This is why they are trying so hard to purge this shooter and all his ideas from the internet - this is an idea so dangerous and so simple that it has the potential to spread like wildfire. And what can the establishment do to fight it? If you crack down, you risk losing control, but if you do nothing, more shootings will occur to force your hand. The power has shifted into the hands of the fringe elements, and the establishment can feel it in their bones - and they are afriad.
We are looking at a future where the disfunction of western democracy has made shooting the people you disagree with more politically viable than voting. I'm certainly not advocating violence, but this is the reality of the current state of the west, and if that doesn't terrify you, consider this: not only will internal fringe elements act on this idea, but just as the CIA empowered fringe elements to destabilize other countries, external state actors will do everything they can to use this momentum to achieve the same here.
So stay safe, stay comfy, and make sure you have a lot of ammo, because you're probably going to need it in the coming years.
