Pensacon, a little-known annual sci-fi and anime convention, has shutdown their Twitter account after threatening potential attendees with arrest and imprisonment.
The meltdown by Pensacon comes on the heels of the recent firing of Vic Mignogna by Funimation due to mere allegations on social media by anonymous accounts. Vic is best known for being the voice of Broly in Dragon Ball Z. Following the allegations by anonymous accounts, Monica Rial who voices Bulma in certain Dragon Ball Z localizations, joined in with her own allegations against Vic.
Monica has not come forward with any tangible evidence for any of her allegations against Vic, infuriating fans of Vic. As Monica Rial will be attending Pensacon, their official social media account has stated that it aims to protect Ms. Rial from any sort of questioning by attendees. It also threatened to unleash law enforcement against them. They also bragged about denying them any refunds after said arrests may happen.
Before Pensacon could delete their account, one Twitter user @ClaireEdwards88 was able to save the following extremely unprofessional and threatening Tweets from the account.
Pensacon is no stranger to controversy. Or prison for that matter. In 2015, Ben Galecki, the CEO of Pensacon received a federal indictment for dealing banned synthetic drug across 47 retail stores, truly earning the "con" in Pensacon.
We reached out for the chairman of Pensacon, Mike Ensley for comment on this story. Mike describes himself as a "minor demon who hosts old horror movies and other assorted weirdness".
We will be covering the horrendous campaign against Vic Mignogna in a more in-depth article in the near future.
