Anime Right News (ARN) — It was a breezy midsummer evening on July 12th, 2017, when the absolutely unthinkable happened, Joy Reid from MSNBC posted an article from Anime Right dot News on Twitter.
A far-right cartoon news website. Wait, what?
It was, of course, absolutely hilarious and led to a brief period of hysteria.
If your Trump Derangement Syndrome is so bad that you’re sharing stories from anime Nazi news sites you MIGHT want to take a step back and really think about what you’re doing in social media.
Reid, who often appears on The Rachel Maddow Show, is also an op-ed contributor at The Daily Beast.
Anime Right News released a response to the apparent endorsement.
As expected, responses from both political aisles regarded Anime Right News as "fake news," even though perhaps ironically the article she had cited was well sourced.
The article in question, which she had cited, regarded Genie Energy's ties to both Jared Kushner and Rupert Murdoch. As well as with each other and their families.
Perhaps more humorous though, is that Reid was on MSNBC with Rick Wilson, when he infamously said that "[Alt-Right] Trump supporters masturbate to Anime."
For her to later cite Anime Nazis, is, simply amazing.
Kushner may have actually read Anime Right News and subsequent reporting which followed Reid's Tweet.
A video response was also released, personally directed at Reid, complete with tears and all.
Reid then attempted to blame SEO for her use of the article:
However, Reid was receiving articles from Anime Right News in her mentions a few days beforehand, which is most likely how she started browsing our website:
