Javad Zarif, Minister of Foreign Affairs for Iran, has resigned. While there are currently questions about whether his resignation will be accepted, as well as the reasoning behind doing so, Zarif was instrumental in the Iran nuclear deal and considered its chief architech.
Zarif announced his resignation on Instagram.
“I am apologizing to you for all the shortcomings … in the past years during my time as foreign minister … I thank the Iranian nation and officials,”
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was meeting with Iranian officials in the country at the time, including Iran’s Supreme Leader: Ali Khamenei. Assad and Khamenei discussed continued cooperation and how their military victories in Syria have dealt a heavy blow to Israel-U.S. plans.
Following his untimely resignation, Zarif has already come under fire from Zionists like Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, someone well known for doing Israel's bidding against American interests. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made comments about war with Iran while at the Warsaw Summit with Pompeo.
