Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland are not telling Canada the truth about Huawei—and the diplomatic row with China's government that has resulted. The dispute has resulted in the detention of Canadians in China which could have been avoided.
Trudeau is currently dealing with fallout from the SNC-Lavalin scandal.
As Anime Right News first reported, there was a conflict of interest regarding the arrest warrant issued for Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou, that pertains to the involvement of Israeli intelligence start-up Armis Security in the development of 5G through a telecommunications deal made possible by the Trump administration.
Wanzhou, who is still set for extradition to the U.S., was originally detained in Vancouver for circumventing sanctions on Iran. The arrest warrant was issued by the Eastern District of New York (EDNY), while Chief Judge of the EDNY Dora Irizarry has an underlying connection to IDT Corporation founder Howard Jonas.
This connection is through something called the Albany inner circle, a political group in New York that Irizarry was a part of while running alongside former Governor of New York George Pataki, before her appointment to the EDNY by the Bush administration. At the time her appointment was controversial due to being considered "unqualified."
IDT was involved in the Trump administration primarily through Jared Kushner confidant Ira Greenstein, who worked in the Kushner-directed White House Office of American Innovation (OAI), an office responsible for government infrastructure and telecommunications. This office superseded the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) before it appointed a Director.
Irizarry and Jonas also appear to be connected through the Bronx High School of Science in New York.
The Albany inner circle also includes former U.S. Representative John Sweeney (R-NY), who led the Trump presidential transition "Tiger Team," which Greenstein had also worked on.
Despite being laden with securities fraud, IDT spin-off Straight Communications Inc. (SPCI) began a bidding process once Donald Trump took office as U.S. President, with Verizon Communications eventually outbidding AT&T with a $3.1b dollar offer. Greenstein held shares in SPCI while this happened.
The deal was also moved forward by Jonas on April 6th, 2017, when he made a major acquisition of SPCI stock before the sharp increase in value. This being the same day airstrikes were launched against Syria, which points to quid pro with Israel's government, it is likely not a coincidence.
Armis was primarily involved with two companies before coming out of stealth in mid-2017: IDT and Samsung. Samsung is working with Verizon to develop phones with 5G this year, in a move that was dependent on the spectrum Verizon had acquired from SPCI. Armis, which installs IoT "monitoring software," would give Israel a beachhead in U.S. telecommunications.
Freeland was lobbying American lawmakers such as U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), someone who is backed by Jonas in another scheme to recognize the Golan Heights for Israel, to court support for a U.S. resolution regarding Canada's extradition and handling of Wanzhou.
Because of these discrepancies, the arrest warrant used to nullify Huawei, is conflicted to a high degree and has national security implications due to the involvement of Israeli military intelligence in developing 5G. As well, it means that the consequences of detaining Wanzhou were avoidable, since the request should not have been followed.
If Trudeau should step down for anything, it should be for this, for putting Israel above Canada and risking Canadian lives overseas.
