This situation is ongoing as there is an expectation that Israel will attack again.
Israel has launched another missile attack against Syria, this time targeting Damascus International Airport, which led Syrian anti-air batteries to shoot down the projectiles—as reported by Syrian state news agency SANA.
Following this attempted incursion, Israel launched two Patriot missiles against Syrian S-200 missiles that had targeted the F-16 aircraft conducting the raid.
In contrast to previous raids conducted at night, this attack came in broad daylight, and also paralleled a large explosion in Damascus at a military checkpoint.
There is speculation that the Syrian Air Defense Force utilized more sophisticated weaponry, possibly the S-300 model, due to the success rate against the Israeli missiles.
