Anime Right News (ARN) — U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he desires a quick withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria, which directly mirrored similar comments made last week, contradicting others in the Trump administration. Trump noted that a withdrawal is being considered “very seriously.”
It would be a welcome change to many.
Notable individuals with conflicting interests within the Office of the Chief of Staff would include Deputy Assistant Ira Greenstein, first brought in by Jared Kushner during the presidential transition period in late 2016, before receiving a permanent position despite his own business interests conflicting with U.S. policy.
Not a single media outlet covering Trump's announcement regarding Syria has mentioned this detail, despite this individual's position calling into question the ability for U.S. foreign policy to be impartial, or in the interest of the American public.
Outlets such as The Daily Beast which primarily produce walls of adjective-laden emotional rants.
Such Israeli interests going unmentioned contrasts near-constant reporting of alleged Russian ties, despite Trump's actions being detrimental to Russian interests, let alone Syrian interests. Whether Greenstein or Kushner play a role in preventing a withdrawal has yet to be seen.
If they do so, it would directly reflect U.S. strikes against Syria last year, which were inherently illegal due to these conflicts of interest.
More troubling comments made by Trump, however, would include references to not "getting the oil out of Iraq." This is akin to admitting ulterior interests in the past, in relation to Genie Energy's interests in Syrian territory occupied by Israel, it is worth noting.
