The midfielder signed a season-long contract with Verdiblancos a few months ago with an option for an extension.
The Malaga man’s high level has prompted Betis to offer a new contract
It’s only been a few months since Isco Alarcón landed at Benito Villamarín, but Betis is already working on a contract extension. The midfielder from Malaga, who arrived as a free agent after leaving more doubts than certainties at Sevilla last year, has become the leader of the Verdiblanco team and the board wants to count on him in the coming seasons.
When Isco signed for Betis, he did so on a temporary contract. The signing raised doubts due to his performance last season, in which he ultimately left Sevilla in January and only found a club again in the summer transfer window. These concerns led to the Green and Whites offering Isco a one-year contract with the option of an extension depending on his goals.
Isco’s contract would be automatically extended until June 30, 2025 if the man from Malaga reached 25 games played throughout the season. He has played everything so far in this first third of the season, a total of 17 games in all competitions, so this contract extension seems to be a matter of time.
However, It seems that Betis will not allow this automatic extension. According to information from “ABC Sevilla”, the green and white leadership has already met with Isco with the aim of extending his contract until 2026. This would be accompanied by a salary increase as a reward for the excellent performance he offers.
