Robert Lewandowski landed in Barcelona last season and quickly became one of the fans’ idols. The goals came out of the Pole’s pocket and his record in front of goal is more than remarkable. So much so that he has managed to surpass Samuel Eto’o in a strange feat.
Lewandowski made his 50th appearance as a Barça player against Osasuna. Well, Polish has become the 21st century footballer who scored the most goals in his first fifty games wearing the Blaugrana jersey: 35 goals. Although his numbers continue to rise and the footballer has now scored 37 goals.
The former Bayern Munich player thus surpasses another historic FC Barcelona striker: Samuel Eto’o. The Cameroonian scored 33 goals in his first 50 games as a Barça player, spread over the years 2004 to 2005.
Although the new season began without a goal in the first two league games, Lewandowski has already scored in the last four gameswhich shows that his goal instinct hasn’t weakened one bit.
